As seltzers sweep across the country to win over the beer and non-beer drinkers alike, there have been a few craft beer players to make their way into the seltzer game. You may not think of ‘craft beer’ when you hear ‘seltzer,’ but our craft beer buddies are surely invested in the world of seltzers.
The craft beer industry has joined the seltzer industry. From Yeasty Brews Artisanal Beers in Lauderhill, Florida to Evil Twin in Brooklyn, New York, craft seltzers are popping up everywhere around the US. Some are full bodied and off the wall, while others are straight to the point like some of their big competitors.
Does the craft seltzer revolution outpace the ‘big macro brew’ seltzers? Is White Claw better than Wild Basin from Oskar Blues? That much is still up for interpretation and debate while poolside, doing a comparison, but we can run through a few of the craft beer players in the industry.
The rise of seltzers and their craft beer makers
There is no doubt that White Claw has taken the seltzer world by storm since its release in 2016. Since then, craft breweries have done their best to step into the hard seltzer ring and put forth their best interpolation of the drink.
Who makes the best craft seltzer? What craft beer powerhouse has what it takes to create a tantalizing craft seltzer?
We’ve listed a few South Florida Breweries including ourselves who are experimenting with crafting new types of seltzers:
• Yeasty Brews – Lauderhill Brewery
• 3 Sons Brewing – Dania Beach Brewery
• Invasive Species Brewing – Fort Lauderdale Brewery
• NOBO Brewing Co. – Boynton Beach Brewery
Yeasty Brews Artisanal Beers
We have brewed a variety of craft seltzer with our Yeasty-twist approach to it. Our seltzers have been infused with lemon, lime, grapefruit, and cucumber flavors, that truly deliver beautiful flavors to your palate. We continue to utilize the highest standards which sets our Lauderhill Craft Brewery apart from the rest of craft breweries in South Florida that produce craft seltzers. We have crafted seltzers that will oblige even the craftiest craft beer connoisseur! If you haven’t tried our “Spa Day” seltzer, your mouth will be watering from the moment you lay eyes on it to the moment you finish your last sip! It’s infused with high quality, fresh and natural ingredients with cucumber and mint! Talk about a Spa Day!
3 Sons Brewing
3 Sons Brewing from Dania Beach, Florida also produces flavorful craft seltzer – in fact, they do a bunch. As to when this article was crafted they have a seltzer on draft called ‘Smoooth Ops Pina Colada’, which is a Pina Colada inspired Smoothie-style Hard Seltzer with Pineapple and Coconut.
Invasive Species Brewing
The Fort Lauderdale-based craft beer brewery also crafts off the wall seltzer flavors that greatly encapsulate what craft beer is all about. With flavors like Hawaiian Punch, strawberry, pink guava and lemonade there is surely a seltzer flavor that anyone can enjoy.
NOBO Brewing Co
NOBO Brewing Co., from Boynton Beach, Florida, uses Vodka in the making of its craft seltzer and Hard versions of their seltzers. This approach amplifies the taste with new notes that aren’t too boozy but still noticeable. It creates a nice blend of flavors with a pleasant mouthfeel that keeps you coming back sip after sip. Their Giggle Water Hard seltzer has Blue Raspberry Lemonade flavor that you can get before you even taste it.
